On-Campus Community

WISE supports individuals in STEM disciplines at every academic level. The WISE Institute co-sponsors several speakers that come to campus each year. Speakers provide campus-wide addresses and meet with female undergraduate and graduate students. The 2008-09 school year hosted visits from Dr. Judy Kennedy, Dr. Lynn Francesconi, Dr. Kathryn Thornton, Dr. Jo Handelsman and Dr. Mary Lynn Realff.

Undergraduate Programs include the WISE Freshman Workshop, the Math & Science Concentration Event, graduate school preparation workshops as well as a variety of speakers that come to campus throughout the year. Beginning Fall 2010, WISE is sponsoring a Learning Community for incoming freshmen women majoring in Science, Techonology, Engineering and Mathematics. Participants living on campus can be housed together in an all female building in the Quad. Interested participants can contact Bonnie Wilson at bonnie@auburn.edu for additional information or visit the Learning Community website by clicking here.

WISE launched the WISE Partnerships in Kenya program early 2011. The program partners undergraduate students at Auburn University with high school students in Kenya. Click on the hyperlink above for additional information.

Graduate Programs include post doctoral location assistance, speed mentoring with faculty, social events, the WISE lecture series and graduate student/postdoctoral student luncheons with seminar speakers.
