Office of Academic Effectiveness

The Office of Academic Effectiveness works with campus leaders and other support units to advance the academic mission of the university. The office, led by Assistant Provost for Academic Effectiveness Norman Godwin, supervises the office of Academic Advising, provides leadership to the Core Curriculum and General Education Committee and University Curriculum Committee as well as oversees the Academic Common Market program and the Academic Honesty process.

Core Curriculum and General Education Committee (CCGEC) - The CCGEC has the responsibilities of recommending goals for general education and the Core Curriculum and monitoring the University’s effectiveness in fostering student achievement of these goals. Toward this end, the committee oversees the assessment of student learning in the Core, including the evaluation of courses, and may recommend to the University Senate changes in the Core Curriculum and general education.
