Office of Teaching, Learning and Assessment
The Office of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (OTLA) is integral to the success of the Harrison School of Pharmacy’s mission. The office oversees faculty development, works with faculty and administration on curriculum development, and continually assesses all aspects of the learning experience. OTLA also collaborates with faculty and staff to foster student-centered learning through the application of innovative teaching and assessment practices.
Using the school’s comprehensive assessment plan, the office coordinates efforts to improve the curriculum and enhance the teaching effectiveness of the entire faculty by actively seeking out and disseminating student feedback.
The HSOP receives its accreditation from the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE). The Office of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment developed an assessment process within the school that is based on ACPE standards. The results of the assessments are incorporated into the strategic planning process for HSOP, as well as ongoing school committee work and program development.
