Kavookjian To Lead National Webinar On Motivational Interviewing

AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Ala. – Jan Kavookjian, Ph.D., of the Harrison School of Pharmacy's Department of Health Outcomes Research and Policy, has been selected to lead a national Webinar on Motivational Interviewing at 11 a.m. CT, on Thursday, May 14. She will lead an expert panel for the Webinar "Motivational Interviewing: How and Why it Works for People Living with Diabetes."

The Webinar is a collaborative effort between the National Diabetes Education Program and the Centers for Disease Control.

The NDEP and HSOP invite you to join the webinar entitled Motivational Interviewing: How and Why it Works for People Living with Diabetes. Speakers will provide a brief overview of motivational interviewing, highlight trainings that have been conducted with multidisciplinary health care providers and peer counselors who serve people with diabetes, discuss the importance of providing a safe environment to explore behavior change issues, and showcase how peer mentors use motivational interviewing in their work.
