A Campaign for Auburn University
On April 18, Auburn University announced an ambitious $1 billion comprehensive campain. With it, Auburn is delivering a renewed commitment to its students and faculty, a continued promise to the state of Alabama and a shared responsibility to the world.
The "Because This is Auburn" campaign will support four major areas across the university. Auburn's goal is to create thousands of new scholarships for students, to endow more than 100 new chairs and professorships for educators and researchers, to develop programs that will allow the Auburn Family to connect with people everywhere, and to build new facilities and reimagine existing campus facilities.
The campaign also will provide Auburn the resources necessary to expand innovative research and outreach initiatives in every college and school and across every discipline.
The Harrison School of Pharmacy will raise $10 million as part of the campaign, funding all four of those primary areas: students, faculty, programs and facilities. To learn how you can get involved and influence the next generation of pharmacists, contact Kori Caldwell or visit the Because This Is Auburn Website.
Scholarship Golf Tournament
The 20th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 21, has been indefinitely postponed. We appreciate all of the interest in the tournament and once a new date has been set, likely in the spring, we will make sure everyone knows. Thank you for your support of the Harrison School of Pharmacy.
The mission of the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs is to seek private resources for the Harrison School of Pharmacy through philanthropic gifts, and to continuously strengthen the bond between the school and its alumni.
The school receives funds from four major sources: state appropriations through the Auburn University budget, contracts/grants, tuition, and private support from alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations. However, reductions in state monies, contracts/grants, and the burden of tuition increases have made the acquisition of private funding more critical than ever.
One of the most important sources of private giving is the Auburn Annual Fund, which directly impacts HSOP’s future pharmacists. These gifts allow student pharmacists to attend state, regional, and national conferences.
The school has a long legacy of generous alumni and friends. The Development team would like to thank our alumni and friends whose hard work and philanthropy have helped us in achieving our current giving levels.
We would also like to encourage others to make a difference in the lives of our student pharmacists, the citizens of Alabama, and the nation. For more information about giving to the Harrison School of Pharmacy, please contact our office at 334-844-8352.
