Susie Thomas, Pharm. D., BCPS received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Auburn University in 1979. She completed a General Residency in Hospital Pharmacy at the University of Alabama Hospitals, Birmingham, Alabama in 1980, and completed a postgraduate Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Auburn University in 1984. In 1993 she was certified as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Dr. Thomas has worked as a clinical specialist in neonatology, quality assurance and drug information, and most recently in nephrology. She has taught in the Auburn University School of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy program based at the University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham, Alabama and the Mercer University School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia.

She has taught part-time at the Auburn University School of Pharmacy for more than 20 years and currently educates pharmacy students about renal diseases, fluid and electrolyte disorders, acid base disorders, and applied pharmacokinetics. She was voted Outstanding Faculty Member by the students in 1994; received the Student Government Association Outstanding Faculty Member Award in 2004; and received the Hargreaves Faculty Mentor Award in 2007.
