Michael J. Scalese, PharmD, BCPS is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, for Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Scalese joined the Auburn faculty in August 2014 and currently practices with the Internal Medicine services at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama.

Dr. Scalese received a Bachelor of Science degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He continued his academic career with Wilkes and received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Wilkes University’s Nesbit School of Pharmacy in 2012. After graduation, Dr. Scalese completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina followed by a PGY-2 Residency specializing in Cardiology at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he also served as Co-Chief Resident. In 2013, Dr. Scalese obtained board certification as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Dr. Scalese is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the American Heart Association (AHA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). His professional interests include: ischemic heart disease, anticoagulation, arrhythmias, hypertension, and pharmacy education.
