Allison Helmer, Pharm.D., BCACP, is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, for the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy and an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, for the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Helmer joined the HSOP Mobile campus faculty in August, 2013 and practices at Stanton Road Clinic, an internal medicine clinic in Mobile, Alabama.

Dr. Helmer graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy – University of South Carolina campus in Columbia, South Carolina, in 2012. She went on to complete a pharmacy practice residency with a focus in ambulatory care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She became Board Certified in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy in 2014.

Dr. Helmer is active in several regional and national pharmacy organizations, including the Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ALSHP) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). Her professional interests include diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular risk reduction, and heart failure as well as the impact of pharmacist involvement in patient care.
