The New Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) Orientation is an academic orientation to teaching for GTAs who are new to Auburn or will be instructors of record, teach labs or have other significant teaching responsibilities. The Orientation is held each Fall semester prior to the start of classes. The event starts with a Resource Fair and Dessert Bar and includes plenary presentations from University officers and interactive sessions. It is highly recommended for all GTAs. Experienced faculty members and GTAs will lead sessions and the three concurrent sessions (in the afternoon) where you can choose from 4 different classes on important topics such as "Alternatives to Lecture", "Teaching Labs" and "Academic Writing" amongst others.
2012 new GTA Orientation to be held Aug. 13 in the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center. New GTAs should report to the Conference Center at 12:00 noon to participate in the Resource Fair. Activities will continue till 4:40 p.m. See the orientation schedule here.
