The New Faculty Orienation is an academic orientation to teaching at AU. It is held each fall semester prior to the start of classes. The day-long event includes plenary sessions, a resource fair, and a luncheon.  This year's concurrent sessions (afternoon) include topics such as "Leading Discussions", "Effective Grading", "Teaching Labs" and "Academic Writing" among others. The event was called Convocation in past years.

President Jay Gogue and his wife Susie graciously host a reception for New Faculty each year. This year the reception will be Tuesday, Aug. 14th at 6 p.m.
