Internships
The internship course, CRIM 4920 is an elective course offered every
term. Students taking this course will be placed with an agency/office
related to the criminal justice system for the semester. Placement depends
upon availability, and arrangements for the internship should take place
at least the term before the student intends to take the internship class.
Some internships, such as those with federal law enforcement agencies,
are highly competitive, and may require an extensive waiting-period for
background checks.
While not a required course, students in the Criminology & Criminal Justice
major are encouraged to consider this course if they are planning on a career
in the criminal justice system, and are concerned about experience or have some
question as to which aspect of the criminal justice system they are interested
in. The course can be repeated for a maximum of 6 semester credit hours.
Students interested in pursuing an internship placement should contact Dr. Gregg Weaver weavegs@auburn.edu.
