Greg Weaver

Greg S. Weaver, a 1997 graduate of the University of Nebraska (Ph.D., Sociology) and a former probation officer with the Florida Department of Corrections, is an Associate Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology. His research interests focus on various aspects of lethal violence, including the cluture/structure debate, contextual influences, and weapons. Dr. Weaver is also a member of the Homicide Research Working Group and the Auburn University Homeland Security Education Initiative. Recent publication include articles in the Journal of Comtemporary Criminal Justice , The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology , and Sociological Inquiry . His is co-author (with Charles E. Faupel and Alan M. Horowitz) of The Sociology of American Drug Use (2004).
