Welcome to First Steps

First Steps is the name of the Auburn Developmental Disabilities Assessment Clinic, and specializes in providing state-of-the-art assessment and diagnostic services for children who might have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. First Steps is part of the Auburn University Psychological Services Center, which is a training center, where graduate students in doctoral training for clinical psychology provide psychological services under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists who are members of the faculty of the Department of Psychology.

First Steps is committed to the training of graduate clinical psychology students to provide excellent evaluations for individuals with ASD. We are part of Auburn University Outreach, the mission of which is dedicated to improving the quality of life in our communities and helping people fulfill their educational goals. Through outreach, Auburn applies faculty expertise and research resources to training professionals, promoting business, advising governments, and assisting families. Our goal and commitment is to provide effective, quality programs and services to our fellow Alabamians. We also extend this commitment to those beyond our borders, both nationally and internationally.
