AmericaSpeaks Upgrades Its Website, Including Slide Show “Tour” and 8-minute Video of the Entire Process

AmericaSpeaks is one of the most successful, ongoing projects in the field of deliberative democracy and public deliberation.  (See story on its New Orleans project currently underway in the News section).

Recently, commensurate with its successful practice, the organization has done a major upgrade of its website at www.americaspeaks.org

Included in the new and attractive design are two features that are especially useful for both the public to better understand the power and excitement in public deliberations and for educators to use in classrooms where they are trying to get students to understand that these innovations are for real and not just the work of dreamers.

The first of these two features is a slide show that takes one through the conceptual and practical aspects of AmericaSpeaks very own “21st Century Town Meeting” process.  The second is an 8 minute high production value video on the process and how it was applied to the issue of health care in the State of Maine.  The producer was Dan W. Osgood Productions (2006).
