AmericaSpeaks To Create Interactive Electronic Forum  for New Orleans Diasporas In December: Community Congress II

On December 2nd, 2006, there will be an historic event that will bring together current and displaced residents of New Orleans in the day-long, electronically connected town hall meeting, Community Congress II.

Participants will have the opportunity, through a process of thoughtful, facilitated dialogue, to provide input on the rebuilding process of New Orleans (http://www.unifiedneworleansplan.com).

Several thousand people will be gathered in five cities: New Orleans,Baton Rouge, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta.

If you are not already aware of the event, the link below is to a website posted with the relevant information. If you don't live in   one of the cities, or for any other reason don't happen to become involved, perhaps you know someone-individuals or organizations-who would be glad to hear about this unique project.? If so, please take a moment to pass this email along.

Community Congress II is being organized by AmericaSpeaks (http://www.americaspeaks.org), the same organization that produced the Shaping America's Youth event that brought 600 people together in Dallas this past April to address issues around obesity.

If you were there, you know the deliberative dialogue process they use is powerful and compelling and will be particularly suited to giving ordinary folks input into the process of rebuilding New Orleans.
