AmericaSpeaks Publishes Excellent Free, Colorful, Easy to Read Guide to Designing and Executing 21st Century Town Meetings

Dr. Carolyn Lukensmeyer recently announced and released the publication of a major document in the development of Deliberative Democracy.  It is titled “Designing 21st Century Governance Mechanisms” and is obtainable free over the AmericaSpeaks website at www.americapeaks.org

Based on the deliberations at a conference held during the summer of 2006, it is a well produced pamphlet that includes the input of such key organizations as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; the International Center for Research on Women; The Search for Common Ground—USA; The European Commission; The Brookings Institution; The Danish Board of Technology; the EPA; the U.S. Government Accountability Office; The Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria…and an assortment of academic specialists in deliberative democracy from Columbia, Brown, Harvard, etc.

This is a landmark pamphlet that helps point the way to how governments around the world need to include deliberative democracy aspects into the way governments operate in the future.  It is free (downloadable or by mail), easy to read, is brief and to the point, and has a user-friendly design.
