The American health care system today is in a tremendous state of upheaval, which some have compared to a no-holds-barred brawl in a frontier saloon of the American Wild West, with hospitals, HMO's, physicians, clinics, and other groups and organizations all competing (sometimes not too civilly) in a shifting policy environment which sometimes changes so rapidly even the "experts" aren't sure what's happening.
In this tumultuous situation, the modern health administrator tries to make the best effort he/she can to bring some order out of chaos and continue the historic all-important mission of coordinating the delivery of health services to those who need them. It isn't easy.
But it is a challenge, and a rewarding career for those who choose it. Presumably, you are investigating this page because you are one of the following:
