Dr. Doris Ford


Dr. Doris Ford died February 27, 1997, at Jackson Hospital, Montgomery, Alabama, after a lengthy illness.

Dr. Ford was a member of the Auburn HA faculty beginning in 1984 and served as Internship Coordinator throughout most of her time at Auburn. She also served at times as Freshman-Sophomore adviser and adviser to the HHAO. Prior to coming to Auburn, she had extensive experience in health planning and evaluation.


Articles by Dr. Ford dealing with health administration appeared in such journals as In addition, she participated in panels of the Alabama Gerontological Society, the Alabama Rural Health Association, the American Political Science Association, and the Southern Gerontological Association.

In the Health Administration Program, Dr. Ford taught courses in community relations, long-term care, and women's health care.

She will be greatly missed by her colleagues, students, and former students.
