Information on Carol Jenkins

Carol L. Jenkins holds the Ph.D. in public administration from Syracuse University, She joined the HA Program on a one-year appointment beginning Fall of 1997 and became a permanent member of the HA faculty as of Fall 1998; in Fall of 2002 she began work in a new position at at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

Dr. Jenkins' areas of interest include aging policy, long-term care, and organization theory. She holds an MPA and a certificate in gerontology. Her dissertation focused on caregiving arrangements for frail older people.

Among her publications are articles in the Journal of Women and Aging and the Maxwell Review. She has presented professional papers at conferences on gerontology, sociology, and women's studies.

Dr. Jenkins had worked previously as a teaching/research assistant at Syracuse University, a research intern at the Metropolitan Commission on Aging, city of Syracuse, and as assistant coordinator of the LeMoyne College Elderhostel program. She hds also been a supervisor and editor with the Haworth Press.
