Flexibility
The requirements for an English minor are simple and flexible enough to meet any number of personal or pre-professional objectives. All you have to do is complete 15 credit hours (5 courses) of English. Of the 15 credits, 9 (3 courses) must be at the 3000-level or higher. There are no "required" courses for the minor. University core courses, Freshman Composition, and Great Books do not count toward the minor. The specific courses in which you enroll are entirely up to you, though meeting with your advisor can help you make informed decisions about which courses to take.
Important Facts About the Minor...
- Students are not required to take Great Books I or II before enrolling in other English Courses.
- You can begin pursuing a minor as soon as you've finished Comp II (ENGL 1120).
- Your choice of a minor will appear on your transcript.
- You can return to Auburn to pursue a minor even after you've graduated.
