Major Core
The core curriculum for the English Major is intended to provide the student with a broad knowledge of the general topics covered within the specific concentrations. In order to fulfill the core requirements, a student must choose twelve hours of writing, linguistics and rhetoric, and advanced literature courses. The list of these classes follows:

2 courses in American or British Literature or Literature in translation at the 4000-level or higher.
