The Creative Writing Concentration
English Majors interested in pursuing careers in writing, editing, or even teaching will find what they need within the creative writing concentration. The courses within this concentration are designed to allow the student to explore his or her interest in poetry and fiction writing, and to both provide and improve those skills needed in the field. Many of these classes are small and personal, thereby providing the student with time to confer with both peers and professor about his or her work. The creative writing concentration is made up of the following courses:
ENGL 4200 Fiction
Writing I
ENGL 4220 Poetry
Writing I
EITHER:
ENGL 4210 Fiction Writing II
OR
ENGL 4230 Poetry Writing II
ENGL 4240 Special Project in Creative Writing
ENGL 4030 Interpreting
Texts
One of the most beneficial aspects of the Creative Writing program is the small, interactive classes led by professors who are always dedicated to helping students improve their writing. Being able to share your own work and listen to the works of others is greatly rewarding. |
