The Role of Faculty in a Search for a University President

Do you want to have a voice in the selection of the next president of Auburn University? Then participate in the AAUP Spring Forum: "Stakeholders' Participation in the Selection of University Administrators." Five panelists will speak on the subject of Auburn's search for a university president, to be followed by an open discussion. The forum will take place on Friday, March 2, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. in Tichenor 206.
Speakers include: Mr. Jack Venable, a member of the Auburn University Board of Trustees; Dr. Larry Gerber, Secretary/Treasurer of the Alabama Conference of the AAUP; Dr. Bruce Gladden, Chair of the Auburn University Senate; Richard Jaeger, Distinguished University Professor; and Eugene Clothiaux; former Chair of the University Senate.

Technical and Professional Communication Field Trip

On February 21, 2001, ten technical and professional communication students visited IBM Global Learning Services in Atlanta. The students were accompanied by trip sponsor Dr. Betsy Smith and four other faculty: Drs. Sidler, Cunningham, Hundleby, and Rothschild.
The group met with IBM team members who explained the role that technical writers play in the development process of various products. After touring IBM facilities, faculty and students attended an Atlanta chapter Society of Technical Communication meeting and listened to a presentation on usability.
