Trivial Pursuit, Anyone?

It's not too late to participate in the cultural trivia contest sponsored by the English Club/Sigma Tau Delta.
The battle of wits (or is it nit-wits?) is scheduled for February 21, 2000 at Pebble Hill. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m., with refreshments to be served.
If you are interested in fielding a team, or in being assigned to one, please contact Tim Dykstal, the faculty advisor to the English Club.

The Executive Board of the Society for Technical Communication has announced that the Jay R. Gould Outstanding Teaching Award for 2000 has been awarded to Don Cunningham. The award will be presented at the Honors Banquet during the 47th Annual STC Conference in Orlando on May 23, 2000.
Charlie Rose participated in the 1999 Sewanee Writers' Conference as a Tennessee Williams Scholar.
His review of New Stories from the South: The Year's Best, 1999 was published in the summer issue of Southern Humanities Review. His review of Kelly Cherry's collection of stories, The Society of Friends, has appeared in First Draft/The Journal of the Alabama Writers' Forum. He has reviews coming out in The Chattahoochee Review, First Draft/The Journal of the Alabama Writers' Forum, and Southern Humanities Review. His short story, "A New Roof," has been accepted by Alabama Literary Review.
