Newsworthy: Toni Bowers to Present "What's the Difference?: Women's Studies, Feminist Studies, Gender Studies"
Toni Bowers, Associate Professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania, will give a talk titled, “What's the Difference?: Women's Studies, Feminist Studies, Gender Studies,” today at 3:00 p. m. in the auditorium of the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. She will discuss the politics, implications, and different effects of three terms used on university campuses: “Feminist Studies,” “Women's Studies,” and “Gender Studies.” There will be 3 respondents, Ruth Crocker, Director of the Women's Studies Program at Auburn University, Penelope Ingram, Associate Professor in the Department of English, and Joanne Tong, Assistant Professor in the Department of English.
Natasha Jones to Have MTPC Portfolio Presentation
Natasha Jones will present her MTPC portfolio at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 6, in HC 3130. The presentation is open to the public. Students in the Master of Technical and Professional Communication program are particularly encouraged to attend.
Dissertation Organization to Sponor Workshop
The Dissertation Organization, an updated version of the ABD Colloquium, will sponsor a workshop. Today at 1:30 p. m. in HC 3330, Karen St. Clair of the Biggio Center will lead a Teaching Philosophy Workshop. Any ABD candidates interested in joining the Dissertation Organization's Writing Group should contact Adrea McDonnell for more information.
