PhD Program Year Five

Schedule:
Fall: Spring:
Write your dissertation (ENGL 8990; one credit hour). Defend your dissertation (ENGL 8990; three credit hours).

Additionally for GTAs:
Teach (one or two sections for a total of 3 per year)

Requirements to Manage:

Register for GRAD8@@0 (if needed).
File your Plan of Study with the Graduate School and the CGS. The Department of English recommends that you file a plan of study the second semester of your first year; the Graduate School requires that you file no later than the semester before graduation. FAILURE TO SUBMIT THIS FORM ON TIME MAY DELAY GRADUATION
Do a graduation check at the Graduate School.
Register for GRAD8@@0 (if needed).
Submit an approved draft of the dissertation to the Graduate School in the first week of classes so that an outside reader may be appointed.
Get information from the Graduate School early in the semester about graduation.
Submit permission form to schedule final oral examination at least one week prior to the date of your examination to the Graduate School.
Submit your approved dissertation in final form to the Graduate School.
