MA Year Two Non-Thesis Option

Schedule:
Fall: Spring:
9 credit hours:
Graduate Course

Take Comprehensive exams over 4 areas (Sign up for ENGL 7990 if you need credit hours)

Additionally for GTAs:
Teach ENGL 1100 (one or two sections for a total of 3 per year)

 

Additionally for GTAs:
Teach ENGL 1120 (one or two sections for a total of 3 per year)
Requirements to Manage:
Fall: Spring:
Identify 4 exam areas; notify the CGS and submit reading lists.
Turn in final Plan of Study.
Do graduation check at the Graduate School.
Receive information from the Graduate School early in the semester about graduation.
Meet with faculty writing exams. (The names of area examiners are posted on the EGO Bulletin Board on the ninth floor).
Submit Form 8 to the Graduate School and to the CGS.

Ask faculty members for letters of recommendation for continued graduate education or jobs.
Apply to PhD programs.
Apply for jobs.
