Janet Mauney received her Ph.D. in Creative Writing from Florida
State University. She also received a Dissertation Travel Grant from
the Florida State University’s Graduate School, two fellowships
from The Hambidge Center, and an Honorable Mention in the Hemingway
Short Story Contest in Key West, Florida. Her short stories have
appeared in Sundog; the Southeast Review, Apalachee Review, Woodrider,
and Q Magazine. A chapter of her novel, Isabel’s Tattoo, appeared
in Belles’ Letters, an anthology of women’s writing.
In addition, her interview with film producer Victor Nunez appeared
in Art Papers, as well as eight reviews of contemporary art exhibits.
She has also published sixteen newspaper art reviews in The Florida
Flambeau.
