James P. Hammersmith, Associate Professor, earned his
PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He specializes in Renaissance
Drama, Textual Criticism, and Composition. He is an associate editor
of The Bantam Shakespeare and textual consultant for the HarperCollins
Shakespeare, both edited by David Bevington. He has won teaching
awards from the Student Government Association and from the Burlington-Northern
Foundation. In his other life he is an amateur luthier.
