When and how long can I study abroad?
You can go as early as the summer after freshman year if you meet Auburn’s basic requirements. 1. Print course descriptions of classes you want/need to take abroad.
2. Ask your program provider who will issue your transcript and how you will be assessed (letter grades, pass/fail, certificate of completion).
3. Meet with Department Heads who must approve courses for Auburn equivalency, using course descriptions and information you provide them.
4. Complete the rest of your Auburn Abroad Online Application.
5. Students interested in internships and service learning projects for Auburn credit will also need to work with a faculty supervisor to review their work abroad and assign a grade for their experience.

How much does it cost? How is it billed?
Most programs abroad run about the same as out-of-state tuition. Students on Auburn Faculty led programs will see both an Auburn Abroad fee and a program fee on their Bursar bill. Students on other university programs who need to use financial aid must be enrolled in an Auburn Placeholder course and will get a placeholder course fee on their Bursar bill and will pay the other university/program costs directly.

If I Have a Disability, Can my Needs be Accommodated?
A student cannot be denied admittance into an Auburn University program because of a disability. However, prior preparation (several month’s worth) is necessary to determine if an international program site and available housing can accommodate a student’s needs. The extra cost of the accommodations will also be reviewed and may be the financial responsibility of the student. See: www.auburn.edu/academic/disabilities. Students with disabilities or in the vocational rehabilitation program can check with AU Program for Students with Disabilities, AU Vocational Rehabilitation and Mobility International USA. To determine whether accommodations can be made for a student’s needs in any Non-Auburn University program, the student must contact the Program Director abroad for that particular program.
