International students can let the good times roll in New Orleans this May with a new program offered by the Office of International Programs. The Study America program draws on decades of study abroad experience and will organize twice yearly excursions to exciting cities around the U.S., allowing international students to explore America beyond the Auburn city limits. The inaugural trip to New Orleans will take place May 9-12 and will include a French Quarter tour, a steamboat cruise with live jazz, an air boat tour of the bayou and a chance to see Mardi Gras floats up close. Registration is $1,193 per person and includes all transportation, hotel accommodation, all activities, daily breakfast and other select meals. If 40 students register the price drops to $928, and the difference in price will be refunded to students automatically. Students must register and pay a 50 percent deposit by March 10 in order to reserve a spot, and final payment is due by April 5. All interested students are invited to a Mardi Gras party on the Foy Hall lobby Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Grab a piece of traditional king cake, some Mardi Gras beads and learn more about the Study American program.
