Nominations Sought for Global Teaching Academy

AUBURN - The Office of International Programs created the Global Teaching Academy to recognize and celebrate exceptional teaching in an international context. The inaugural class was formed last year, and new members are being sought for the 2014-2015 academic year. Members will be inducted into the Phi Beta Delta Honorary Society for International Scholars. The goals of the Global Teaching Academy are to:

  • Recognize our peers for their interest and efforts in globalizing Auburn's curriculum
  • Facilitate international course offerings on campus including teaching techniques and course programming models
  • Assist in creating an academic International Minor, pre-Freshman programs, and other international academic needs
  • Grow the international education impact on campus and overseas.
The Academy will add five to six faculty members this year, recognized for their international teaching. Nominations and applications are now welcome and interested faculty should provide a cover letter and short CV highlighting their teaching of international content, either on-campus or overseas. Applications should be sent by email to Andrew Gillespie, assistant provost for International Programs by Nov. 7.
