Auburn University has teamed with North Carolina State on a proposal to support higher education in the Republic of Georgia through the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation.
Auburn and N.C. State will compete for funds to develop courses, programs and degrees to support Tbilisi State University and related regional institutions. If successful in the proposal, Auburn will develop distance education courses in various engineering fields as well as English as a Second Language in Georgia. These courses would complement efforts by NCSU to provide several degree programs for Georgian and other regional students.
The joint U.S.-Georgia initiative will strengthen vocational education and higher education, building capacity within Georgia for the new, knowledge-based economy.
