Fulbright and Professional Improvement Leave Workshops Offered for Faculty April 21

Faculty members are invited to learn about opportunities available through Auburn's Professional Improvement Leave policy and with the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program through two workshops April 21 in Student Center Room 2225.

At 3 p.m. Amanda Malone, special assistant to the provost for budget management, and Jeff Suhling, department chair for Mechanical Engineering, will discuss how faculty can take advantage of Professional Improvement Leave at Auburn. At 4 p.m. three representatives from the Institute of International Education will present on the various opportunities for faculty members offered through the Fulbright program, including traditional semester- and year-long programs as well as new shorter-term appointments. Speakers include Alisha Scott, program officer, who manages Fulbright exchanges to the Western Hemisphere and Sub-Saharan Africa; and Lee Rivers, outreach specialist for Fulbright.

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers more than 500 teaching, research or combination teaching/research awards in over 125 countries for the 2017-2018 academic year.
