Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offering western hemisphere award opportunities

AUBURN, Ala. – The United States’ close physical proximity, shared values and vast cultural, commercial and demographic ties to countries in the western hemisphere has resulted in decades of collaboration and partnership. To further build these strong networks, the 2020-21 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is offering close to 60 awards in over 30 countries in the western hemisphere.

The western hemisphere opportunities range from a series of research awards in Canada, a border award with Mexico, a variety of all-disciplines awards throughout Central America and the Caribbean, and a range of captivating opportunities in South America. The deadline to apply is Sept. 16, 2019.

Faculty applying to the program may contact Andrew Gillespie, assistant provost for international programs and Fulbright campus liaison, for questions or assistance with the application process.

To explore the complete list of 450 award opportunities, reference the Fulbright catalog of awards. In addition, the Office of International Programs has a resource page on its website where faculty can find Auburn Fulbright scholar contacts and details on specific awards and programs.
