Each year in October, the Korea Center - King Sejong Institute hosts a celebration of one of the major holidays observed in Korea, Chuseok, or the Autumn Harvest. Students and the public are invited to try staple Korean dishes that are traditionally eaten during this holiday like Bibimbab, a nutrient-rich rice and vegetable dish, or Songpyeon which is a type of Tteok, or small rice cake. During this event, guests are educated on the history and significance of the dishes served and the Chuseok holiday in Korean culture.
