Global Bridge Program

Auburn University will offer a new path to an American education for international students through a program providing two semesters of academic credit along with English language courses.

Citing growing demand from overseas, the new program merges ESL training and university courses into an attractive pathway to college.

Classes for the University Bridge program begin May 16, 2013. Prospective students can contact the English as a Second Language office at (334) 844-2122 or raffadc@auburn.edu.

The Global Bridge program will also be available through selected AIRC-certified agents worldwide.

Features:

  • 15 credits toward an undergraduate degree during the summer semester (9 credits of advanced English language skills and 6 credits of academic courses)
  • Full-time transient student status during fall semester (an additional 12-15 credits of academic courses)
  • Full-time admission into a degree program in the spring semester, dependent upon satisfactory GPA (2.5)
  • Simplified admissions application and fast-track processing
  • ACT/SAT and TOEFL requirements waived with successful completion of the Global Bridge Program
  • On-campus housing during the summer session
  • A university-town experience with many weekend activities

Program Dates

  • Summer 2013 Semester: May 16- July 31
  • Fall 2013 Semester (for those successfully completing summer classes): August 21 - December 13

Requirements

  • High school transcript (certified copy and certified English translation) with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 out of 4.0
  • IELTS score of 5.5, or TOEFL score of 61 iBT/500 pBT
  • A statement from a bank or a scholarship letter showing $32,460, which is the estimated cost of attendance in the Global Bridge Program for two semesters
  • Copy of the passport photo page (and visa, if already in the U.S.)
  • Note: Acceptance into the Global Bridge Program does not guarantee admission to Auburn University. Successful completion of the program is required for admission to Auburn.

    • Application fee: $60
    • Summer Tuition and fees: $12,325
    • Fall Semester Tuition and fees: $12,325 (approximate, pending Board of Trustees’ decision
    • Summer Insurance: $320
    • Summer Housing On Campus: $2,086
    • Fall Insurance: $762
    • Fall Housing Off Campus: $2,000 (approximate)
  • Additional Costs (Estimated):
    • Books and Supplies: $1,100
    • Meals: $3,086 (meal plans are available on campus)
