Programs in Travel Warning Countries

Studying Abroad in Travel Warning Countries

Students interested in studying abroad in Travel Warning Countries:
The following programs in travel warning countries have been Pre-Approved by the Auburn University Risk Assessment Committee for consideration by students.

Note: The US Department of State monitors travel conditions for all US citizens abroad and periodically issues Travel Warnings and Travel Alerts, specific to each country or region. Political, physical, or living and travel conditions may be severe enough to declare a Travel Warning, cautioning US citizens to defer travel. Auburn University has implemented a policy precluding all student travel associated with Auburn activity to such countries. However, specific academic activities within countries under travel warning can be allowed under certain circumstances.

Students interested in studying abroad in any Travel Warning Country (including pre-approved programs) must submit a Request for Waiver of the Auburn University Travel Warning Policy. The policy can be found here. Please contact Deborah Weiss, Director of Auburn Abroad for further details.
