2004 Centennial Congress
Award In recognition of the Longleaf Alliances
leadership and dedication to the restoration of the Souths
longleaf pine forest and the many plants and animal species dependent
on this majestic southern tree. Presented by Chief Dale Bosworth,
USDA Forest Service, at Biltmore Estates, NC the birth place
of professional forestry in the United States. November 9, 2004..
2003 Land Stewardship Award
For promoting interest in the longleaf ecosystem and
coordinating partnerships between landowners, conservation groups
and governmental agencies in managing and restoring longleaf pine
forests. Presented by the South Carolina Chapter of the Wildlife
Society. July 23, 2003.
2000 Forest Conservationist
of the Year In recognition of the Longleaf Alliances
hard work in longleaf forest conservation. Presented by the Alabama
Wildlife Federation. August 2000.
2000 Secretary of Agricultures
Honor Award For long-term work promoting the development
of longleaf forests. Presented by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture
Dan Glickman to the Longleaf Alliance and USDA Forest Service. June

1999 Henry Hardtner
Award The inaugural award was presented by the Southern
Group of State Foresters to Rhett Johnson, Co-Director, The Longleaf
Alliance, In recognition of significant contributions to forest
sustainability through outstanding assistance to forest landowners.
