- Description:
-
- Abstract:
-
A raster dataset depicting the probability distribution (0-100%) of the loblolly forested ecosystem class (as of Hogland et al., 2005).
- Purpose:
-
This dataset is one of a series of forested ecoystem probabiliy distributions that can be used to identify the location, the extent, and the amount of area for the loblolly class.

Class probability validation was perfomed using an independant dataset and techniques described in Hogland et al., (2005). Error matrices can be estimated using all forested ecosystem class probabilities and a decision rule.
- Logical_Consistency_Report:
-
Forested ecosystem types follow the definitions put forth in Hogland et al. (2005), which can be found at the following website <http://graduate.auburn.edu/auetd/>. This dataset was generated using multitemporal Landsat ETM+ imagery and DEMs. The grain size of this dataset is 30 meters. Model validation was performed using an independent dataset and can be found in Hogland et al. (2005).
- Completeness_Report:
-
Probability distributions have been checked for mathematical consistency and have been checked for unclassified pixels. A stripe of no data (from west to east) was noticed in the southern portion of the study area accounting for 1 pixel in width (from north to south) across the study area (east to west). No attempts are being made to determine the class probability for these pixels.

The source imagery was obtained from EROS Data Center (EDC) through the Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics (MRLC) program. EDC claims subpixel accuracy so maximum positional error is 30 meters. We performed no further georectification of the data.
