On a Personal Level
As a person she is a working mother of a son born in March 1996. She enjoys spending time
with her husband Jeff and son Jeffrey Mackenzie "Mack." In her free time she enjoys taking a few
minutes to escape by walking on the treadmill and watching her "soaps." Trellys has been actively
involved in vocational education since the secondary level. While in high school she was a VICA
officer at Eisenhower High School in Lawton, Oklahoma, and later the President of Oklahoma State
University's Collegiate DECA Chapter.
Academic Background & Research Interests
Dr. Trellys Morris completed her Doctorate of Education at Oklahoma State University in
1994. She received her Masters and Bachelors at Oklahoma State University. Her Masters is in
Occupational and Adult Education, 1987 and Bachelors in Marketing Education, 1984. In addition
she is a product of the community college system, her Associates of Science degree from Connors
State College in Warner, Oklahoma in 1981.
Currently Dr. Morris is the teacher-educator at Auburn for Marketing Education, however, she
does teach and advise students in Family and Consumer Sciences (home economics education) and
adult education. She is the campus advisor for Collegiate DECA and the AU Association of Family
and Consumer Sciences Education. Several core classes in VED are taught by Dr. Morris, VED 102,
VED 346, VED 415, VED 558, VED 541, VED 641. In addition she has sections of VED 414, VED
425, VED 446, VED 450, VED 462, VED 495, VED 625, VED 646, VED 650, VED 653, VED
695.
Research interests include: Marketing Education, Teacher Education, Teacher Competencies,
Teacher Certification for Marketing and Business Education.
