THE MARKETING EDUCATION PROGRAM
We invite you to join us in Marketing Education at
Auburn University. Here you will acquire the skills that are
necessary to prepare people sales, advertising, and marketing
occupations in our nation's businesses.
WHAT IS A MARKETING EDUCATION TEACHER?
As a Marketing Education teacher, you will guide
the learning process of youth and adults who are interested in some
phase of business. You will prepare high school students for a
variety of jobs in the nation's businesses. The Alabama high
school marketing teacher instructs students in the following
general areas:
- Marketing
- Customer Service
- Sales and Salesforce Management
HOW DO YOU BECOME A MARKETING
TEACHER?
If you find marketing courses interesting and challenging, them you
should consider the field of Marketing Education. You may start
your career in marketing education at the high school, junior
college, technical college, or university level. If you have taken
any marketing courses such as Introduction to Marketing, Sales,
Salesforce Management, or Advertising, you may be acquiring the
skills needed to become a marketing education teacher!
With an undergraduate degree in Marketing
Education from the Vocational and Adult Education
Department at Auburn University, you will be qualified to
teach at the high school or vocational high school level. You will
be qualified to teach such subjects as marketing, advertising,
salesforce management, and microcomputer applications.
WHAT WILL YOU STUDY?
A total of 211 hours is needed for graduation. The curriculum
consists of:
- 86 hours of general course work (English, history, math
science, etc)
- 40 hours of professional education courses
- 75 hours of technical business & marketing courses, and
- 15 hours of internship
Dr. Morris will be assigned as your advisor
when you enter Auburn. Your Advisor will assist you in planning
your program, in registering each quarter, and with any other
problems you may encounter. The University and the College of
Education have many scholastic support services that help students.

In addition to teaching, the Marketing Education
graduate enjoys numerous other employment opportunities. Employers
actively seek Marketing Education graduates for a
variety of interesting positions including:
- Corporate Marketing Training,
- Administrative Support,
- Office Systems Management,
- Marketing Support Representatives,
- Public Relations, and
- Management Training Programs.
A graduate degree may qualify you to teach at the junior college or
college level. In Marketing Education, you have the opportunity
for career development that lets you achieve your full potential

ADVANCED CAREER DEVELOPMENT
OPPORTUNITIES
Once you have obtained your undergraduate degree in
Marketing Education, your career development does
not have to end. Graduate students in our Department can obtain
the following degrees in Marketing Education:
Master's Degree
- Specialist's Degree
- Doctoral Degree in Education
A graduate degree may qualify you to teach at the junior college or
college level. In Marketing Education, you have
the opportunity for career development that lets you achieve your

student club for High School students who are interested in marketing careers and for College
students who are majoring in Marketing Education.
