In
a collaborative venture, the College of Education at Auburn University,
under the leadership of Dr. Richard Kunkel, Dean and the Alabama State
Department of Education, headed by Dr. Ed Richardson, State Superintendent
of Schools set forth to create a training model for aspiring and practicing
leaders on the skills and attitudes necessary for collaborative leadership.

certification of school administrators as set forth by the Alabama
Department of Education (“A” and “AA” certificates), NCATE(National
Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education) , and ISLLC (Interstate
School Leaders Licensure Consortium).
This module can be used as a stand-alone hard copy document or can

“housed” in the Truman Pierce Institute at Auburn University under
the direction of Dr. Frances Kochan

or beliefs:

larger community,
- Everyone is responsible for student success,
- Families, staff, and the community must
be in communication for collaboration to be successful,
- Educational excellence requires diverse
