OVERVIEW OF PLACEMENT SERVICES


Education Interview Day will be held each October and March at the Auburn University Hotel Conference Center.

Professional Education Placement Services (PEPS), a division of Professional Education Services in the College of Education, serves prospective education graduates and former education graduates who are seeking employment. In addition, PEPS assists schools, school systems, and other educational facilities in locating prospective employees. To meet the needs of our graduates and of the numerous school systems and educational organizations with which we are affiliated, a number of services are provided.

Additionally, Association for School, College and University Staffing, Inc. (ASCUS) The Directory of Public School Systems in the United States, which has addresses and telephone numbers for all school system offices in the United States, is available in the Learning Resources Center (3410 Haley Center). Listings are indexed by state in alphabetical order.

Finally, the Education Interview Day, is a recruiting fair held Fall and Spring semesters during which representatives of school systems and other educational facilities from the southeastern region come to campus to conduct screening interviews for prospective employees. Students who have interned or who are graduating, as well as former graduates, are eligible to participate. Fall and Spring interns are informed of the date and pre-registration periods. The date and other pre-registration information is posted on the bulletin board outside the Placement Office (3464 Haley Center) for those not interning. Interviewers may not know exactly what positions will be open; these are preliminary, screening interviews. More extensive on-site interviews are required when actual vacancies are announced.
