Abstract

The purpose of this project is to assist consumers in Georgia's Vocational Rehabilitation Region 8 service area to overcome barriers that have the potential to affect their employment. By readily having access to various community resources, the consumer can be proactive in their own problem-solving process.

In developing this resource, a digital local directory (on CD) was secured. Select community resources were then identified, organized, printed, and compiled into a handbook for the vocational rehabilitation team and consumers. This resource allows most consumers to identify and utilize community resources independently. Consumers' problem-solving skills are developed by independent research and the VR team benefits from the time-saving aspect of the compilation.

Developed as a class requirement for the Academic Certificate Program in Community Employment Services: all rights reserved.
