Abstract

The Burlington Unit Job Club Manual provides information about the purpose of Job Club and it also a resource manual for job developers, job coaches, employment specialists, job seekers, and others who are motivated to learn and to utilize techniques for inding suitable employment for clients/consumers and/or themselves. The users of this manual will acquire knowledge about obvious (e.g., classified ads in the newspaper) and “hidden” (e.g., finding about an upcoming job in the agency which has not been advertised publicly) means of getting a job, the proper way of filling out job applications, and guidelines for preparing and sending resumes and cover letters. Also included in the manual are materials about job interviews, employer expectations, and interpersonal behaviors with and around co-workers.
