Checklist for Job Development and Placement
by Sharon Few

Abstract

A guide for Job Placement Services personnel was developed. Input was sought from job placement team members at the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services and a list of 17 important tasks was identified. The guide is made available for employees to review to keep their tasks for successful job development in perspective.

An example of a "must do" in job development from the guide:

#14...Get involved in networking opportunities. It's the personal touch that makes a difference. Identify networking opportunities in the community and try to attend their functions. Sending a different person to each function devalues the networking opportunity. Remember...just attending is not nearly effective as getting involved.
