Abstract

Since the Employment Specialist position is new in the Montgomery office, little or no contact has been made with local employers to obtain local labor market information. Jamie met with employers to discover what type of services they provide, what type of people they employ, and what traits they look for in potential employees. 

Other information gathered included information about what these employers look for in resumes, employee benefits, the importance of on the job experience, and their hiring practices.

Results were compiled into a booklet of "Employer Profiles" of responding employers in the community. This information is now available to all program participants during vocational exploration and/or job search.
