Article VIII – Duties of Officers

Section 1. It is the duty of the president to preside at meetings, represent the organization, uphold the principles of the constitution, and appoint committees as required, subject to the approval of the Executive Council.

Section 2. It is the duty of the vice president-advocate to preside in the absence of the president and serve as chairperson of the program committee. It is also his or her duty to represent the chapter on advocacy issues, contact the MENC state coalition chairperson to become involved on the local and state levels, and act as the resource person for the chapter to receive information.

Section 3. It is the duty of the secretary-webmaster to keep accurate records of meetings and business, keep a current roll of membership, maintain the chapter CMENC website, and keep in touch with members of this chapter and other chapters, maintain a close connection with MENC headquarters, and report the chapter activities for publication in state and/or national publications.

Section 4. It is the duty of the Treasurer to be responsible for and account for the collection of any monies and/or payment of any debts to the organization.
