RESERVE MATERIALS POLICY
Faculty may request that materials be placed on "Reserve" in the Learning Resources Center, 3410 Haley Center. Reserve materials have restricted access or a restricted loan period to allow greater access to a greater number of students/patrons.
1. Faculty must request that certain materials be placed on Reserve by completing a Reserve Materials Request Form. Reserve materials must be requested each term and only for a class (or classes) taught that term. The Request Form must have the faculty member's signature to indicate compliance with the copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code).
2. Items that may be placed on "Reserve" may include the following:
a. Books and printed materials from the LRC collection.
b. Faculty member's personal books.
c. One (1) photocopy of three (3) articles from one journal/magazine/periodical volume during one term. The photocopy must have bibliographic citation on first page. (See #4 below about multiple copies and reserves beyond one term).
d. One (1) photocopy of one (1) chapter from a single book during one term. The photocopy must have bibliographic citation on first page. (See #4 regarding multiple copies and reserves beyond one term.
e. Nonprint materials from the LRC collection.
f. Faculty member's personal nonprint materials.
3. Books and materials which belong in the collections of Ralph Brown Draughon Library wil not be accepted for "Reserve" at the LRC.
4. Requests for placing multiple photocopies (more than one photocopy of the same article or book chapter) or beyond one term on "Reserve" must be accompanied by a copy of permission granted from the copyright holder to make multiple copies and/or to place on reserve beyond one term. The responsibility for obtaining permission rests with the faculty member.
5. The LRC is not responsible for loss of or damage to a faculty member's personal books, materials, articles, nonprint materials, etc. placed on "Reserve" in the LRC.
6. Materials will be returned to a faculty member if reserves are not renewed by the tenth class day of each quarter.
7. Any or all materials that do not meet the requirements as specified in this policy will not be placed on "Reserve" in the LRC.
